Our family has been growing free range pure breed Berkshire pigs since 2010. Our farm is on Barapa Barapa country near Barham NSW on the Murray River, we have been farming free range un-certified bio-dynamic for 11 years and moved to regenerative and holistic farming practices 2 years ago when we noticed our soil showing signs of stress. Our aim is to build our soil so that we can grow food that's good for the planet and good for your health. We do that by regenerating our farm land with worm inoculated, diverse cover crops which feed the soil microbes; plant trees and shrubs to encourage biodiversity of plants and animals and to foster good insect populations; using self-generated green energy from solar panels and batteries; where possible using packaging made from plants not fossil fuels; holistic decision making.
We have been doing our own butchering in-house since 2013 and upgraded our space and built our own butchery in the Barham township 10km from the farm in 2019 where we have total control of our beautiful pork from paddock to your plate. We are also part of a project which is building a multi-species micro-abattoir at Barham for small producers, owned by a cooperative called the Murray Plains Meat Cooperative, set to open later in 2022.
We are privileged to to directly supply our ethical pork to people that want to make a real difference to the planet. You can be part of the change by supporting our farm through our CSA boxes, delivered monthly. Our ethical practices encompass low stress animal husbandry, environmentally focused decision making and respect to people. We encourage nose to tail meat consumption and supporting a fair local food system.
